So I Might Be Obsessed With Target

Is it completely pathetic that I am so excited that we just got a brand new Target down the street from us!?! I hope not because I could not even contain myself when I walked in there last night. It is all shiny and new!! They did an amazing job bringing their signage up to date and they put a designated seasonal home decor section in that literally made my heart skip a beat. I mean I must have looked like the heart eyes emoji. I controlled myself, but I am seriously considering going back and just hanging out there today.

You guys!! It was finally cool enough last night to break out my favorite brown riding boots. I bought them last year and they are still available. They are seriously so comfortable and the gold buckles down the side are just perfect! I threw them on with the most comfortable leggings ever and this lightweight sweater. You are not going to believe how reasonable this sweater is, it comes in eight colors and it is currently buy one, get one 50% off. It is also the perfect length for leggings and so cozy (but not walk into a building and sweat cozy).

I guess yesterday was just a really good day!

Settling In

We have been home for a little over a week now, but with the welcomed chaos that ensued this weekend it feels like we got home yesterday. I still don't feel like we are settled back into our house. The reality is that it has been a full five months since we have been home for more than 36 hours at a time and unpacking from that madness just takes time. I am slowly coming to accept that I have to just take one room and one task at a time. Sometimes it takes more time to decide where to start than it does to actually complete the tasks at hand. Hopefully, we will be much more settled by my next post but you know what? I am ok if we aren't. It will happen sooner than later and sometimes we need to take a break from being so hard on ourselves.

I have been sporting comfy clothes for the last few days and this long, open, hooded sweater is so darn comfy that I find myself throwing it on constantly. The material is such a soft knit inside and is pretty light. The front edges are not finished which gives it a casual cozy feel. My jeans still haven't been restocked and I don't know that they will be, but I linked a couple of jeans that I have tried on to make sure they are worth checking out. My shirt is my go-to long sleeve tee/tunic. It is long enough to wear with leggings and it is currently buy one, get one 50% off. My chucks are my go-to shoes for any casual look and did you hear that Nike bought Converse!?! They have apparently completely redone the insoles of the chucks. I haven't gotten my hands on them yet but I am super excited about it and I will let you know what I think when I do.

Post Round Up & A New Addition

This weekend we celebrated our niece Abby's birthday and her mommy gave her a new baby sister as a present. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law had to leave in the middle of the party to head to the hospital and little Ava was born late Saturday night. She is absolutely darling and we are thrilled to have a new little princess to love. She came a bit early, but mommy and baby are healthy and happy and will hopefully be home a little later today.

Since things got a little hectic this weekend and we are still helping care for our Ava's older brother and sister, I decided to keep things on the simple side and do a round-up of a few recent posts. You can click on the links below each picture to shop that look directly. Quite a few items featured are on sale so I notated those items with a "*" after it. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and I will hopefully have a new post up on Wednesday.

Time To Get Down To Business

Over the past year-and-a-half, we have been CELEBRATING. When I say celebrating I mean we have celebrated everything from a successful work season to having a good Tuesday. We are food people so to us celebrating means eating fun food. I promise this will not turn into a weight-loss-journey blog but I got on the scale yesterday morning and I could not believe my eyes. I wanted to cry. As of yesterday, we have started a new eating plan and we have committed to working out for at least 30 minutes per day. Tony and I are going to partner together to be each other's support in this little venture. We will have planned fun days here and there for parties, vacations, and such but I am really excited to be turning over a new leaf. I have never been a tiny girl and I don't plan to be, but the most important part of shedding some pounds for me is to be healthy. Sorry if this bores anyone to tears, but I figured it was a great way to keep myself accountable to stay committed to this plan and follow through with it.

Last night we started heading out of the house to run a few errands and I had to come back in and change. I was happily greeted by a chilly breeze and my short sleeve dress was not quite cutting it. I was so happy to get to throw on this cozy new sweater and my favorite taupe booties. This sweater is so soft and totally reasonable for the quality. I have it paired here with a knit little black dress, but it can also be worn much more casually over a t-shirt with some jeans. Also, my earrings are still being price matched. Click the links above to shop this look directly.

I Can't Stop Smiling

Super cheesy, but I woke up with the biggest smile on my face yesterday morning knowing the season was over and that we didn't have to pack up and leave again today. Then I rolled over and Tony was staring straight at me with the biggest smile on his face. I guess we are both super happy! We are all unpacked and super excited to spend the rest of our week getting back into the groove of things and visiting with our family's.

Being home is definitely an occasion for a new date night dress! The sleeves and lattice back details make this dress a little sassier than your typical shift dress. You also can't beat the price! I have it paired here with my favorite nude ankle strap shoes and a matching clutch. Also, My heels and my earrings are being price matched right now. Just use the links above to take advantage of the sale.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I am off to have lunch with my momma.

Sweaters and Pumpkin Patches... Oh Fall!!

Someone pinch me!! We are going home today!! I am so stinking excited!! Typically at the end of fair season I am anxious to be done just because we are nearing the end, but this year it was truly about a week too long. I totally hung in there though and finishing out with this fair was definitely worth it. Our sweet friends, Clif, Emily and little Norah, came to visit from Monterrey this weekend and that totally helped make the seemingly daunting final week fly by!

The cool down we had this weekend was amazing. On our way beck to the fair the other day we drove by this pumpkin patch and I couldn't help but beg Tony to stop even if it was only for ten minutes. Nothing screams fall like the first cool weekend, pumpkins and a sweater. I could not resist! This sweater looks thick but it is actually rather thin. In fact, I checked my reflection in three different sets of lighting to make sure it wasn't seethrough. My jeans are out of stock right now but I linked some similar styles and they are both currently marked down. Like I mentioned before, I love a light wash for casual fall looks. It gives you another option before we go into full blown legging season. Of course, I have it paired here with my handy chucks.

I hope everyone's week is off to a wonderful start!

Weather Geek

When I was growing up my grandpa, the sweetest man I have ever encountered, was obsessed with the Weather Channel. It always cracked me up that he would watch that darn channel day in and day out. This was before they had the cool shows about surviving hurricanes and how to drive in a snowstorm. He literally spent hours watching information on the current and future weather around the world. The older I get the more I realize that this is very much an obsession that I inherited from him. I have four different weather apps on my phone and I check them religiously. Everything about weather truly intrigues me! Yesterday not only did the heat break but after a gorgeous day with very few clouds, we got rain here in Fresno. Not just any rain either... We had the most colorful sunset followed by an incredible thunder and lightning show. I was like a kid on Christmas watching the weather completely change from the window of our fourth-floor hotel room. It is hilarious the things we inherit from our loved ones. What characteristics have you inherited from the people you admire?

Naturally, I took total advantage of the cooler weather and put on my favorite booties and scarf. I love the look of a lighter washed jean in the fall especially paired with warm colors. The long sleeve shirt I am wearing is beyond soft and super light, so perfect for layering as it cools off a bit more. It has more of a short tunic feel rather than a tee and it's on sale right now for under $12!!! My scarf is sold out in that color, but I linked a similar scarf and that same scarf in a different color.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!!

Warm Weather Sweater and Baby Shower Plans

As I mentioned a few weeks back, I am planning my sister-in-law's baby shower, along with her momma and sister-in-law. Miray wanted to have an "under the sea" theme, so of course we happily obliged, and the location we chose overlooks the ocean, so it works perfectly. She is having twins, a boy and a girl, which is super exciting but a little challenging on the shower front. Unless you go all blue and pink crazy, things can get a little gender bias. So with all of that in mind we have decided to stick with a neutral palette of sand and white with touches of aqua and blush. Now I can't divulge all of the details as we are wanting some of it to still be a surprise for the momma-to-be, but think neutral seashells, white candles, tan sand, and blush florals all along an aqua backdrop. Now that the invitations have been received by most of the lovely ladies we invited, I can also share how darling they are.

We have of course personalized them but how gorgeous is that gold leaf text and the color scheme is amazing!?! You can shop them here and this company was so sweet to work with. I will try to do another update, but I can't wait to share pictures after the celebration!!

I have been so drawn to grey lately so this sweater naturally drew me in. It is super lightweight and so comfy while still being fun and sassy enough for a great happy hour or dinner with the girls. The hi-lo detail paired with the criss-cross front really dresses it up. I have it paired here with my favorite ankle jeans and lace-up heels. The heat won't quit here in California so a look like this isn't something I am able to wear before the sun starts to go down. I am definitely enjoying every last drop of summer during the day, but I am oh-so-ready for sweater weather,

Cold Shoulders For Warm Days

We have been in Fresno for almost two weeks now and I am finally getting the hang of things. Our hotel is nowhere near anything except the fair so it has been interesting getting to know where and where not to go. The fair itself has been a pleasant surprise. It's really cute and it is a huge deal around here. Some of the news stations even do their broadcasts from the fairgrounds. Also, today marks one week until we will be home and I am ecstatic, to say the least!!

Before I get you super excited... this dress is sold out in solid black :( They have it in a really pretty dark floral and I also tagged a similar style above. I wore this off the shoulder dress the other day and it was perfect for the warm weather we have been having but still very seasonally appropriate when paired with my favorite taupe booties. You can't really tell that well in the pictures, but the outter layer of this dress is a light gauzy material which makes it super flowy and fun. I especially love the detail on the shoulders. I know it is a little disappointing that this exact dress is out of stock, but the good news is both of the ones I tagged are under $30!!

I hope everyone has the loveliest week!
