To Tuck Or Not To Tuck

Top: Lush | Jeans: James Jeans | Shoes: Steve Madden | Pendant: BP | Lip Pencil: MAC (in Soar) | Lipstick: MAC (in Mehr)

Let's talk tucking of shirts... The shirt I have on here is a lightweight woven polyester so it is incredibly flattering to begin with. When untucked it hits me right under the split of my legs. By tucking it in the front of the jeans, I have created room for it to blouse which has an even better slimming effect when it comes to bell bottoms. Because of the flare at the bottom of these particular jeans, it is important  to be able to see where your legs begin. A wide-bottomed pair of pants with a loose hanging top gives the illusion that you are as wide as either that top or the bottom of those pants. If the top is at least semi-tucked  then the eye is drawn to that point where the tuck happens. Moreover, if the top is bloused then the your smallest point becomes even smaller with the added illusion of not actually seeing the point of the tuck. Now, this same top is perfect to wear untucked with skinny jeans. In skinny jeans, the line of your leg tapers. The smallest part of your leg becomes the point that the eye is drawn to, and therefore allows plenty of room for a big meal or when your tummy is a bit on the bloated side. This is also another reason that I highly recommend getting skinny jeans tailored to your leg by having them tapered even further when getting them hemmed if necessary. If you buy a good quality pair of jeans then it is well worth your money to have them fit you perfectly as they will last you a long time.

I had no idea that I should have been born in the 70's, but I just can't get enough of this fashion lately. I love love love the block heels that are everywhere and the bell bottoms are just a given. The heels I am wearing here are so incredibly comfortable that I wore them for most of the daytime traipsing around we did in Vegas. I also love the gold pendant I am wearing here. It is super versatile and only $18. This outfit is great for transitioning into spring and the top comes in several colors. Side note on the actual color I am wearing here... It is called Thyme and Nordstrom must have entered it into their database wrong because if you follow the link above you have to click on the option for "Juniors" sizing or else it appears to be sold out. All of the other colors can be found fully stocked under the "Regular" sizing, so someone on the tech end must have just mixed things up.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!
