Outfit Balance

I picked up this jacket the other day and I love it. It is super thin so it will be perfect for spring and summer nights and lately olive has been more of a neutral than a color of its own. It is a great option to keep around to throw over most outfits. I have it paired here with a few different warm brown tones and it works really well. I also threw on some super comfortable boyfriend jeans with these block heeled sandals. All in all, this is a very comfortable outfit for most days of the week.

When I look to pair pants with a top I generally like to make sure it is balanced. Meaning, I don't like an outfit to be too tight or too loose. The tank top I am wearing above is a clingy stretchy material so I have balanced it out by wearing some looser fitting boyfriend jeans. My stomach is not my favorite feature so my go-to balance is to pair looser fitting tops skinny jeans. There are times that I have worn outfits that are loose on both top and bottom and that's when you want to make sure to at least slightly tuck your shirt. You can read more on that HERE. I think all of these "rules" are good general jumping off points when you may be sleepily looking in your closet trying to decide what to wear every morning.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!
