Our Exciting Weekend!

Dress: Topshop | Shoes: Steve Madden | Clutch (similar style): Halogen | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Earrings (dup): Nadri | Sticky Bra: Tidetell | Lipstick: MAC in Pink Plaid | Lip Pencil: MAC in Edge to Edge

Some of our dearest friends are coming to stay with us this weekend and I am so excited! Nate and Marshele used to live here in San Diego and recently moved to Tucson for Nate's work. We miss them terribly so when they said they were coming for a visit I, first, insisted that they stay with us and, second, insisted that we have a co-ed Baby-Q, since Marshele is pregnant with their first child. They loved the idea so we get to have a party for them this weekend! They arrive today and we will be having a bunch of our mutual friends over tomorrow to celebrate them becoming parents. It should be a lot of fun and then we get to have them at church with us on Sunday too! Like I said before, so many of our friends are becoming parents in the next six months or so and it is very exciting to watch them transition into this new chapter in their lives. I will probably do a full party recap sometime next week.

This dress is so sweet. I mean, that print and the ruffled cold shoulder straps are just darling. It is a true wrap dress with a button inside to fasten one end and a tie on the other side to secure the outer wrap. If you can't quite tell in the pictures it is cream with a navy print so I paired it with my go-to nude ankle strap heels and nude clutch. They are all very complimentary and keep the color palette quite neutral. They are sold-out of the clutch I have pictured but the clutch I linked, I own in silver and love! It is an awesome size! It is thin enough to carry under your arm but large enough to fit everything you could want and it has a chain if you get tired of holding it.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

A Must Read

Top: Lush | Jeans: Paige Denim | Wedges: Halogen | Bracelet: Blushes and Gold | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Earrings (dups): Nadri | Similar Bags: Sole SocietyTory BurchRebecca Minkoff | Lip Pencil: MAC in Staunchly Stylish | Lipstick: MAC in Kinda Sexy

Tony and I attend a small group every Monday night as a part of our church. It is a group of people all similar in age to us that we have been doing life with for probably the last year and a half or so. This semester we read the book Through the Eyes of a Lion by Levi Lusko. You guys, this book is life changing and inspiring beyond belief. Levi is an incredibly relatable author. Beyond teaching me how to handle death and grief, this book opened my eyes to the fact that I need to pay closer attention to what God's plan for my life is in addition to acting on that plan (running towards the roar). It also gave me a completely different perspective and passion for heaven. It is probably one of the only books I have ever finished and probably one of the only books I will read over and over again. Levi pastors a huge church in Montana and can this man ever preach! I highly recommend reading it no matter what stage of life you are in. There is something for everyone in these pages.

This is another one of those tops that I could not wait to share with you guys, and guess what? It is sold out... but it comes in two other colors and they are still fully stocked so I am hoping that they will restock this one as well. It is made of loosely woven rayon which makes it so breezy and comfortable. It is tunic length in both the back and front and comes up to about the belt line on the sides which makes it very flattering. I picked up these wedges the other day and they are so ridiculously comfortable that I may go back and grab them in every color. they are light in weight and not too tall, so truly the perfect combo. I paired both here with the same Paige Denim jeans I have been wearing quite a bit lately and of course some gold jewelry (what else is new).

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Beautiful Days

Top: Bo Beau | Jeans: Paige Denim | Wedges: Jessica Simpson | Necklace: BP | Bracelet (similar style): BP | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Lipstick: MAC in Kinda Sexy | Lip Pencil: MAC in Staunchly Stylish

Yesterday we went to La Jolla where Tony's parents were having a little staycation. We took them to church at a beautiful Catholic church down the street. Mass was all about love and such a great reminder that love for others is an area we could all really improve upon. After mass, we went to Coronado for brunch at Il Fornaio. If you are ever in San Diego and want brunch with the most ridiculous view, then this is the place. I mean, their brunch is out of this world (their french toast is my fav), but you are literally sitting on the beach of Coronado island looking across the bay at the San Diego skyline. It is truly unlike any other view. We cruised Coronado for a while and took a few pictures at the beach. It was such a beautiful day and we spent priceless time with Tony's parents. It's one of those days we will never forget!

I was so excited to find this cold shoulder top. Most cold shoulder tops require you to either wear a strapless bra or a sticky bra so I love the thick straps for times when you want to be a little more comfortable. It is made up of woven polyester which makes it very flowy and breathable. These jeans are so comfortable as well. If you have never tried Paige Denim before, do yourself a favor and check them out. You will thank me :) I have my favorite camel colored wedges on again and for good reason. They are just that lovely.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Nighttime Daylight

Dress: O'Neill | Wedges: Jessica Simpson | Jacket To Pair With: Blank NYC | Bracelet: Blushes and Gold | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Earrings (dups): Nadri Similar Bags: Sole SocietyTory BurchRebecca Minkoff | Lip Pencil: MAC in Staunchly Stylish | Lipstick: MAC in Kinda Sexy | Sticky Bra: Tidetell

Now that I have adjusted to the time change, it is so nice that it is light outside past 7 pm. Last night Tony and I met at the beach after he was done with work and took a two-mile stroll. We got back to our car just as the sun was setting. It was perfect! A few nights ago we decided to head down to the tennis courts by our house and hit some balls around. Being able to get out and do an activity later in the evening is so refreshing and makes for better sleep too, as you have spent a little more energy. The fairs are quickly approaching (only six weeks until our first opening day), so I'm doing my best to soak up every minute of this nighttime daylight that we have left together.

It has been in the 90's here in San Diego, which is downright hot! This dress is perfect for warm weather. It is the easiest to just throw on and go. We all know how I love a good shift dress and this one is even better because the halter style on the top is super flattering for your shoulders. I found (and linked above) my exact wedges. They have another version out too but I think mine are a tiny bit better because the bottom strap criss-crosses. I linked a jacket above that I don't have pictured, but it got chilly the other night and I pulled a similar one out of my closet to go with this outfit and it was perfect!

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

San Francisco and Napa Recap

I decided to do a full recap of our trip  in Northen California along with some pictures of highlights.

So here goes... We drove into San Francisco from northern Los Angeles midday Sunday, got freshened up and headed out to dinner at an awesome pub down the street from our hotel. They had 30 beers on tap and fun gastropub style food. Our hotel was very historical and the rooms were on the smaller side but overall it was really nice and the location could not be beat. I mean, we were half a block from Union Square. After dinner, we had about an hour to jump back across the bay into Oakland for a Carrie Underwood concert. Silly us. Right as we were trying to leave a Giants game let out and we went a whole three blocks in said hour. After sitting for that long we decided to ditch the car and take the BART into Oakland. We parked our car in the only open spot we found (for free might I add) and ran two blocks to the station to catch the train by two minutes. When we arrived in Oakland we ran a half mile (I was in heels) from the station to the concert and had drinks in hand and our bums in the chairs with five minutes to spare before Carrie came on. Phew! It was SOOOO worth it! She is such an incredible performer! We Ubered back to the car and made it safe and sound. We asked for adventure and we definitely got it on night one alone!

The next morning we woke up at a decent time and got on a hop-on hop-off bus tour. I have to say it was hands-down the best thing to do if you only have a day to explore like we did. We got to see everything we wanted and it took us pretty close to all of the restaurants we wanted to eat at so it was an all-around great way to get from place to place for the day.

Food for the day started at Flywheel Coffee Roasters in the Haight and Ashbury district. This coffee... I mean, all of the heart-eye emojis!!! It was wonderful and their staff is the nicest! We walked from there to Zazies for breakfast. Hands-down the best breakfast I have ever had. My best friend recommended this place and boy was she ever spot-on! We shared an egg scramble and their miracle pancakes (truly miraculous) and we wished we could start all over again! It is a must eat if you are ever in SF!

After breakfast, we explored the Haight and Ashbury district quite a bit which was fun, interesting and completely different from anywhere I have been before. It is a truly unique stop.

We got back on the bus and saw quite a few things from there before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. That was such an awesome experience. It is incredible to be somewhere that is so iconic and the bay is absolutely gorgeous. I mean, I love the water but this was just breathtaking.

We did quite a bit more touring and stopped places like Lombard Street and Ghiradelli. There is so much time that can be spent in this city.

We had the obligatory ride on a cable car which was a ton of fun, but I can't believe how close they come to vehicles parked on the street. Kind of crazy!

We rode the cable car to this incredible Italian restaurant. I haven't had pasta that fresh since we were in Italy. Their food is served on a paper plate. You pick the type of pasta you want and the type of sauce you want and that's it. No frills because they are so not needed!! I could eat at this place over and over again!

We did a little more bus riding and then went in for a nap. That touring thing is exhausting!

When we woke up from our nap we decided to venture out for a night cap and came across this speak easyesque cocktail bar. What an experience! They painstakingly make drinks. My cocktail must have had 10 different ingredients. Don't order off the menu either, just tell one of the bartenders what you are in the mood for and trust me, they won't dissapoint!

The next morning we drove out to Napa and checked into the Silverado Resort and Spa. What a gorgeous property. It is out of town a little but worth it. They have buildings like the one pictured above scattered throughout their sprawling property and each building houses six to eight rooms. The rooms are just about all renovated and they have been done to the highest of standards. We will definitely be returning there.

We took an Uber everywhere we went in Napa. Safety first kids! Our first stop of the day was Peju. The grounds of this winery were picturesque and looked like something straight out of Disneyland. I mean, it was kind of a Disneyland for adults :)

Our second stop was Grgich Hills Estates. Mike Grgich is the guy that put Napa on the world's map of wine. This was an especially nice visit because almost exactly two years ago, we visited Mr. Grgich's home winery in Croatia on our honeymoon. It is a beautiful winery as well with a huge emphasis on organic farming.

Our last stop of the day was at Mumm Napa who makes one of our favorite sparkling wines. We have had plenty of bottles of Mumm throughout our relationship so it was really neat to see where all of those bottles start out. Their facility is gorgeous and they have a very in-depth tour that they offer four times a day. After leaving there we ate at R+D Kitchen in Yountville and let me tell you, we could not have eaten anywhere better after a day of wine "tasting". I had a pulled pork sandwich that was unlike any I had ever had before. The flavor palette they offer is unexpected and incredible. They have four locations and I highly recommend you check them out if you have the opportunity.

Napa was on my baby bucket list (things to do before we have kids) since it is solely a drinking trip. It was beautiful and we will definitely be back.

It was a quick trip but one we will always remember and cherish. Anytime Tony and I have concentrated time that is solely ours, it is one for the memory books. My heart is so full and I am so thankful that he pulled off this surprise for me.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!!

Gorgeous Florals

Dress: Eliza J. | Organic Sunless Tan: c/o Blush | Shoes: J. Renee | Clutch: Halogen | Bracelet: Nadri | Earrings: Nadri | Right Hand Ring (similar style): Nadri | Lipstick: MAC in Pink Plaid | Lip Pencil: MAC in Edge to Edge

We got back from northern California late on Wednesday night and I finally feel like I am getting back into the swing of things. I will post a full trip recap on Monday but I wanted to make sure to get this dress from the wedding we attended last Saturday fully up on the blog. The parties continue this weekend with our family coming to town for our niece's baptism. As per usual, any occasion is a reason for a huge party especially weddings and baptisms, so it will be really fun to have everyone together!

The first time I saw this dress I fell in love. I was a little hesitant about wearing it to a wedding but the amount of bold and bright colors completely distracts from the fact that the background is white. When I found out it was going to pour rain on the day of this wedding I was hesitant to wear this dress but I couldn't find a replacement for it that even came close to comparing. It is a fully lined gorgeous crepe de Chine gown with a full and lustrous tie-back around the neck. I paired it with silver jewelry, a silver clutch, my favorite blue suede shoes (which happen to match perfectly) and a gorgeous tan c/o Blush. I went to Blush's San Diego location the night before the wedding and Yaya sprayed me perfectly. I have never used their services before and they are nothing but elite. I told Yaya what my plans are and how dark I wanted to be and my tan turned out perfectly and has lasted so much longer than any other spray I have ever had. I don't like to be too dark, I just like to take the "pastey" away and we were able to achieve just that! They will definitely be my go-to place for a sunkissed glow from here on out. And the best part... they are in several cities nationwide.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

San Fran Bound

Dress: Lush | Button-Up: BP | Shoes: Converse | Crossbody Bag (similar style): BP, BP | Lipstick: MAC in Peach Blossom | Lip Pencil: MAC in Staunchly Stylish

On Saturday, we went to a gorgeous wedding in Simi Valley at Hummingbird Nest Ranch. This venue is incredible! To the south of the property you have views of the rolling hills in northern LA and the north end of the property sits at the base of a mountain with scattered rock. The ranch home is a white Spanish-style building covered in bougainvillea. It is out in the middle of nowhere but totally worth it. It poured in SoCal on Saturday but that didn’t stop us from partying all night under a clear tent. Tony and I are currently in the car on our way to San Francisco and I am so stinking excited. Tonight we are heading to the Carrie Underwood concert in Oakland and that should be amazing as well! We will be touring SF all day tomorrow so I decided to post this a little early as to not cut into our time together. I can’t wait to tell you all about our adventures over the next week.

This dress is so soft! It feels like it’s like micro-velvet or something. It is super comfortable and perfect for any casual day, but the slits on the sides give it a sassy edge. You guys, I finally bought the new Converse with the Nike Lunarlon insole and they are ridiculously comfortable!! Stop what you are doing right now and order yourself a pair! They are lovely!! I paired this little outfit with a chambray button-up around the waist which is also perfect to throw on when the day turns to night in this transitional weather we have been having.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!
