This May Weather Though

Top: Caslon | Jeans: James Jeans | Shoes: Halogen | Similar Handbags:  Sole SocietyTory BurchRebecca Minkoff | Necklace: Nadri | Earrings: Nadri | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Lipstick: Anastasia Beverly Hills

I've mentioned before that I am somewhat of a geek about the weather, but no matter how hard I try I never quite remember that May is practically winter here in San Diego. It is downright chilly unless you are standing in the sun with not a single cloud in the sky. Our house sits right in the crevice of a hill so it never feels exactly like how it feels in the rest of San Diego if I simply step outside. Once the sun goes down, you can forget about short sleeved anything. March and April are total teases because they actually get rather warm. I'm totally not complaining, but can someone please remind me next year before I get all excited and buy a ton of sun dresses and then... it's May?

I couldn't resist breaking out my bell bottoms for this top. It is so 70's inspired it's not even funny. This outfit, while rather simple, is great for day time and being out and about. My wedges are hidden under the bottoms of my pants so they look like a whole new sassy shoe. This top is 100% cotton and oh-so-soft. It would also go great with white denim thanks to the embroidery across the top. I have it paired here with some simple silver jewelry.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Lip Stains

Top: Lush | Jeans: DL1961 | Shoes: Vince Camuto | Clutch (dupe): Sole Society | Necklace: Nadri | Earrings: Nadri | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Lipstick: Anastasia Beverly Hills

I know I am super late to the game on this one, but these matte lip stains are literally everything. I have been wearing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick lately and I love it. It goes on so precise and it does not budge all day. With my light skin, bright colors can get out of hand. I have been searching for a lighter neutral mauve for a while without success until I was in Sephora the other day. The ABH Liquid Lipstick in Crush is perfect for everyday wear for my skin tone, I mean even for running errands in your Nikes. Crush is a great color, but this formula is everything. It literally does not come off until I wash my face at night! I'm in love!

I've really grown fond of the whole white denim phenomenon thanks to this exact pair. Like I said in this post, they are the perfect blend of stretch and constructed denim. I paired them the other day with this front overlap button-up shirt. It's perfect as we head into summer thanks to how thin it is and the gauze-like material. I picked up these lace up heels the other day after eyeing them for a few months. They are surprisingly comfortable and the zip-up back is perfect for easy entry and exit. Last week my sweet sister-in-law took me for dinner and a little shopping for my birthday. We picked out the gorgeous earrings and necklace I am wearing. The exact set is linked above.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Obsessed

We are about a week and a half out from our first fair of the season starting. I can't believe how fast our off-season went! With every year that passes it seems that time flys way faster than it ever did before. We are pretty ready other than needing several additional employees, but that will happen (it always does). My hubs has been working his tail off and I am so darn proud of him. For the first time ever I am excited about the season starting. I think I just have a better grasp on things this year and having my own work is also a great thing and a decision that I am so happy we made. Here's to a great season!

It has been a while since I have been absolutely head over heels for a dress. I mean, being a fashion blogger there are plenty of outfits that I really like but am not obsessed over. This dress is obsession worthy. It is a heavier woven material and lined so it lays exactly as it is supposed to as a shift dress. And the detailing... Oh the detailing!!! It's a gorgeous lace embroidery and it's all over the dress. The lining stops just short of the detailing on the bottom hem and the neckline. I paired it with a leather jacket for church this past Sunday, some complimentary wedges and some delicate gold jewlry.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Re-Focus

Top: Culture Phit | Jeans: Blank NYC | Wedges: Halogen | Earrings (dup): Nadri | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Similar Handbags:  Sole SocietyTory BurchRebecca Minkoff | Lipstick: MAC in Pink Plaid | Lip Pencil: MAC in Edge to Edge

Sometimes being your own boss is not as easy or as fun as it seems. I know, poor me. I should totally not be complaining, but I'm really not. Think about it this way, everything I get done in a day solely depends on me and there is no one else to blame any of my failure on. They say there is no "I" in "team", but when you are your team that gets a little difficult. I am a self-starter and I have always put a ton of pressure on myself so being my own boss is HARD sometimes. Not having a good week or a week that I didn't produce as much as I could have is completely and entirely my own fault. Last week I truly disappointed myself, and trust me I am my own toughest critic. How I felt looking back at how little I had gotten done made me downright mad and there was no one to blame but me. To be honest I had really just been winging this whole be your own boss thing since I started in August. So, sorry I was MIA for the last few days, but I took my disappointment and used the energy to re-focus myself and dive a little deeper into what is going to make me the best boss to myself that I can be. I am glad to say that all is well here and I am so ready to jump back into not only the blog, but some other stuff I have been working on with both feet and a much better perspective. Wish me luck :)

I feel like I have said this a lot lately, but this is one of those pieces to have around for everyday wear. As I have mentioned before, I am not a huge fan of my stomach, so flowy pieces are my go-to and this one is a heavy enough material to where it lays nicely while not being form fitting... the best of both world's kind of thing. skinny jeans are a must with this top as it is too long for any other type of bottom. I paired it with a pair of relaxed black wedges and some simple everyday jewelry.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!!

It's round-up time again. Reward Style has been having a few issues with their Like To Know It functions, so I thought it would be especially good this month to have some of my favorite latest looks all in one place. My regularly scheduled new posts will be back on Friday.

The Piano Man

Jeans: DL1961 | Top: Bobeau | Wedges: Jessica Simpson | Earrings: Bauble Bar | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Similar Handbags:  Sole SocietyTory BurchRebecca Minkoff | Lipstick: MAC in Pink Plaid | Lip Pencil: MAC in Edge to Edge

Tony and I had the coolest date night to celebrate my birthday on Saturday night. We saw Billy Joel in concert at Petco Park with 42,000 people. It was incredible! We started the night off right taking an Uber from the house to have some incredible Italian food at Bencotto. They make their pasta from scratch at this restaurant and the atmosphere is wonderful. After dinner, we wandered over to Kettner Exchange for some amazing handcrafted cocktails on their rooftop lounge. Again, the setting was beautiful and sitting at the bar watching the show of bartenders painstakingly crafting these gorgeous drinks is definitely the way to go. From there we took another Uber to the ballpark and got settled in to watch the "Piano Man" perform a once-in-a-lifetime show. He hasn't been to San Diego for 15 years, but he definitely made up for it with last night's performance. My sweet husband surprised me with these tickets a few month's back, and while any date night is always my favorite surprise, this was one for the record books! Thank you, love!

These white jeans deserve all the heart eye emojis! They have the perfect amount of stretch to them while still having true jean-like structure which hides all those upper thigh imperfections that most of us have. They are also ripped in all of the right places including a few shredded spots in the back. I paired them with this royal blue tunic on Saturday night for the concert. This top is a crepe like material so it has a little texture to it which is always fun and it comes in a few colors. The added slits up the side make it perfect for any pair of skinny jeans. I rounded this outfit out with some coral and gold stone earrings and camel wedges.

Birthday Week

Dress: Jack by BB Dakota | Shoes: Converse | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Earrings (dup): Nadri | Similar Handbags:  Sole SocietyTory BurchRebecca Minkoff | Lipstick: MAC in Pink Plaid | Lip Pencil: MAC in Edge to Edge

I have had the nicest birthday week ever and it's not over yet. The sweet people that I call my friends and family have loved on me so much this week that it's almost overwhelming. I did a recap of the earlier end of the week in this post. On Wednesday, my dad picked me up and we spent the afternoon together. We grabbed lunch and then I dragged him to the mall. He's a good sport. Yesterday morning, Tony had to leave early, but he woke me up with roses and a cupcake with a lit candle and sang me happy birthday before he left. My mom and I had lunch at a thai restaurant that I love and then I finished out the afternoon with a few errands (you know adult stuff). Last night, Tony's mom put on the sweetest dinner for me with my favorite Arabic dish and we had cake and spent time with them and Tony's brother and his family. It has just been such a blessed week and my heart is so full. Today I am helping my bestie furnish her first home (super exciting!) and tomorrow Tony and I are going on a really exciting date night. More on all of that Monday.

Plaid is everywhere these days, but my absolute favorite is when I can find plaid shirt dresses! I love the dark and light mint this plaid has going on and how it is complemented by pink and black. It is not a combo you see very often but it totally works! Hands down, my favorite thing about this dress is that it has a little tie around the waist. As much as I love a good shirt dress, they tend to make me look pretty boxy, so this is the perfect way to fix that. This dress is a sheer woven polyester and it comes with a slip that is just shy of the length of the dress. I hate when a slip comes with a dress and it is way shorter. It doesn't make any sense. This one is the perfect length. I have it paired with these super comfortable Converse/Nike hybrids and my every day dainty gold jewelry.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!!

Another Year

Top: Elodie | Jeans: BlankNYC | Shoes: Steve Madden | Clutch (similar style): Halogen | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Earrings (dup): Nadri | Sticky Bra: Tidetell | Lipstick: MAC in Peach Blossom | Lip Pencil: MAC in Staunchly Stylish

So, tomorrow is my birthday... again. It never fails. Year after year it makes me one number older (lol). But really, I'm a little over it making me old. We have already been celebrating all week. On Monday night, Tony made me a beautiful surf and turf dinner and we watched a total sappy chick flick (have I mentioned how lucky I am?). Last night we went to my mom and Brucy's to celebrate, as they won't be around tomorrow. Brucy makes the best tacos. He fries up the shells the super unhealthy way and piles on ground meat and all the fixings. He has always baked a cake for his kids on their birthday's and when he and my mom first started dating he didn't skip a beat for me and since then it's been something I truly look forward to. He makes a darn good cake and it is so sweet of him! We have a few other things planned this week with Tony's family, my dad and a date night for us, but I already feel so loved. My heart really might explode by the time this week is over. I am so thankful and blessed to have such an amazing family and support system.

I think I have worn this shirt five or six times since I purchased it a few weeks back, which is pretty rare for me. It is the perfect date night top when paired with some heels, a clutch and skinny jeans. I love how strappy it is and the way it flows makes it very flattering because it leaves a lot to the imagination. The stripes are navy which makes it perfect for pairing with jeans and adding in some nude details keeps it classy and a little nautical. A few days back, I had been wearing this exact outfit for a day at the wineries with my dad and by the time I got home it was a bit chilly, so I changed into some camel colored sandals and threw on my camel colored jacket to run a few errands. It worked perfectly both ways. A lot of my clothes go to the back of the closet after the first couple of weeks (hazard of the job), but this one will definitely be staying front and center.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!!

Mother's Day Recap

Dress: Painted Threads | Similar Crossbody Bags: Phase 3Vince CamutoRebecca Minkoff | Wedges: Jessica Simpson | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri | Earrings (dup): Nadri | Lipstick: MAC in Kinda Sexy | Lip Pencil: MAC in Staunchly Stylish

I hope everyone had a beautiful Mother's Day! My sweet momma and I had such a nice day down in Coronado. We had brunch at the same restaurant that I gushed about in this post and then we went on a historical homes tour. This is the third time we have done this tour, but it's different homes every year. These homes were all built in the early to mid-1900's and have all since been restored or updated with some restorations. I love homes. I mean, I consider looking at model homes a hobby, so getting to tour homes with so much history that also have some updates is my absolute favorite! We saw six homes yesterday and probably walked about six miles in doing so. We had a blast meandering the streets of Coronado. If you have never been to Coronado, put it on your bucket list. It is a quaint peninsula town across the bay from downtown San Diego. It is gorgeous and quiet and where I dream of retiring someday. Oh, and they also have the famous Hotel Del there. After spending a few hours between these gorgeous homes we took a little drive and stopped at my favorite ice cream parlor, MooTime Creamery. It was the perfect finish to the sweetest day. My momma is the best ever! I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such an amazing role model and friend!

A floral midi dress is the perfect addition to any closet. This one throws a little sass in with it's criss-cross neckline and flowy 70's inspired sleeves. I love how effortless and casual you can wear this, but you can also turn it into a day date outfit with some ankle strap heels and a clutch. The light woven polyester is cool in a breeze, so perfect for the warmer temperatures we should be getting here soon. I have it paired here with my go-to camel wedges and a crossbody bag for a few hours at the mall.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!!
