Fun fact... I lived in Utah for 10 months right after I graduated from high school. I went to school for medical esthetics and I am still licensed even though I have never practiced professionally (different story for a different day). I knew I wanted to be an esthetician and I have always strived to be the best at whatever it is I want to achieve. Medical esthetics was the best you could be in that field and at the time it was only offered in Utah. Lucky for me, my aunt and her family live in Salt Lake and they offered to take me in. Long story short, I came running home after I was done with my certification, but Utah holds a dear place in my heart and my family there makes it even more important to me. Conversations about living in Utah typically go as follows:

Me: "Yeah I lived in Utah for a hot minute and I visited every summer growing up."
Other Person: "Oh, are you Mormon?"
Me: "No"
Other Person: "Oh, well did you like it there?"

The truth is, I love it there! My family that is there is a huge part of that, but it is also absolutely gorgeous, which is probably a funny statement coming from a San Diegan. Well, if you've never been, it is a whole different kind of beautiful. The mountains are stunning, there are lakes everywhere and all four seasons are just gorgeous in their own right.

The reason I am telling you all of this is because I am going for a visit next week and I am so stinkin' excited. I have not had the opportunity to visit in the summer since I moved home. I went for a couple of days last year in early June, but it was for my cousin's graduation so it was a bit rushed. I started working for a company who's busy season was during the summer right when I moved home and now with Tony's schedule the way it is, we prefer to go together during the winter. This year my mom mentioned going and I thought it might be nice to get away for a mid-season break from the fairs, so my mom and Brucy are graciously letting me crash their time with the rest of the family.

It really is my second home. I know that because whenever I go, I don't get that anxious excited feeling that you get when you go on vacation. Instead, I get a warm-fuzzy excitement. There is definitely no place like home, but it's nice to have another place that is a close second.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!
