Time Off and What's Next

Top: Xhilaration | Jeans: BlankNYC | Wedges: Jessica Simpson | Crossbody Bag (similar styles); CescaSole Society | Earrings (dup): Nadri |Bracelet: Blushes and Gold | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri

The LA County Fair starts on Friday and we are so ready. We took more time off than we ever have and I have never seen Tony so relaxed and ready to start a fair. It is refreshing and I am so proud to see him getting even better at the work that he has been doing for years. We were talking about it last night and he still feels like he has room for improvement, which blows me away! I am just so proud of him and what a hard worker he is. He works so hard for us and our future and I cannot even begin to explain how appreciative I am of that. We had a really nice time off. The first few days we got a chance to catch up on a bunch of stuff around the house and relax a little. On Thursday, G, Miray and the twins arrived and we had a blast with them. They are almost 8 months old and so so fun to be with. They seemed really comfortable at our house and were so interactive and playful. Watching them develop at this age is just precious and fun. We probably won't see them again until November and it makes me sad that we are going to miss them changing so much. Keep the videos coming, Miray!

I mean Target for the win AGAIN with this tee. It is super soft and comfortable and the lace lining makes it so much more than just a tee. Like I said here, I am slightly obsessed with a good floral print. Add an easy-to-carry crossbody bag to this outfit and you are ready for just about any casual day. I paired this top with my most comfortable ripped and reconstructed jeans and some brown wedges. The wedges have a new link above and they are on sale for only $35. I have gotten so much use out of these babies for the past two years. I would definitely recommend snagging them at such a good price.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Seamlessly Transitioning Into Fall

1. Bracelets: Target (25% off) | 2. Top: Halogen (25% off) | 3. Purse: Old Navy (4% off) |
4. Jeans: KUT from the Kloth (40% off) | 5. Shorts: Volcom (40% off) | 6. Shoes: Sperry (33% off)

So far the soaking in of our week has been wonderful. Tony and I got to spend the entire day together on Tuesday just doing life. To most people, a trip to Home Depot and Costco would be so mundane, but what I crave more than anything during the fair season is just doing life with my partner. We picked each other so getting to do things together is my absolute favorite. Last night we had my sweet mom and step-dad over and it was the nicest time. I am a big momma's girl and I haven't seen my mom in over two weeks. That was a hard stretch and we have another one of those ahead of us, so I definitely savored the few hours we had.

Yes, a transitional look that is all on sale. Crazy, I know! This is such a laid back outfit and it is absolutely perfect for transitioning from summer to fall. Like I laid out in the spread above, it can be effortlessly worn with either crops or shorts. Layering a lightweight vest over a super casual tee is a great way to look put together while still being super casual. These Sperry's are insanely comfortable and are great to have around when you need to run a few errands or do lunch. Both the cranberry top and the olive vest are very "fall" in color, but if you want to make this a little more of a summer look you can swap the top for a white v-neck that I am sure you have laying around. These are all very warm tones so pairing this outfit with some brown accessories is definitely the way to go.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

Restoring My Love For Shopping

Top: Who What Wear | Camisole: Merona | Jeans: Paige Denim | Clutch (similar style): Halogen | Heels: Steve Madden | Lip Color: Bare Minerals in Juju | Earrings (dup): Nadri |Bracelet: Blushes and Gold | Bracelet (similar style): Nadri | Middle Finger Ring (dup): Nadri

We are finally home after two weeks and thank the good Lord for that! I have missed my family tons and tons. Living in 300 square feet for two weeks straight might make a girl crazy so needless to say I am thrilled to be out of our house trailer and back in our oh-so-spacious home (comparably speaking). We will be home for a solid week which has never happened between fairs before. Usually, we have a few days home here and there but being home for a solid week feels downright like a vacation. As a bonus, G, Miray and our darling niece and nephew are coming to stay with us for a few nights. During our season it is so easy to keep looking forward to the next fair and getting every box checked for it, but this week we are making a conscious effort to slow down and really relish this time we have in our home and with our families.

Lately, I have been shopping a little less to try to restore my love for shopping. I have found that ever since I started fashion blogging, shopping has become work, which has really taken the joy out of picking out a piece that I absolutely cannot live without. I have also started shopping in store a little more as well and I came across this top the other day. I had one of those "have to have it" moments which like I said, I haven't had in a while. I am so drawn to certain floral prints. There is something so modern feeling about this print, but the structure of this top makes it feel a bit vintage. It is a great mix. It is definitely sheer, so be prepared to wear and cami underneath. I paired it with the most comfortable pair of dark washed jeans along with nude ankle straps and gold accessories for a casual date night. For the office, swap out the black cami for a light pink one and pair it with a black pencil skirt a light pink cardigan and some pumps. Either way, it is definitely a "gotta have it" piece.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!

The Dynamic Duo

Do you have any products that you are religious about, that you just walk straight up to that cosmetics counter and ask for that exact one and nothing else? I have two of those. They go together, but from what I have seen not many people wear them together. I don't know if that is because of desire for variety or if they have truly found something better. This liquid foundation and this powder foundation are my absolute favorites, like all the heart eye emoji favorites! You would have to bring me something earth shattering to get me to switch full time. I stray now and then and have tried tons of combinations of these with complimentary products, but seriously they are married in my mind. I'm not talking like shotgun not going to last married, they are a "til death do us part" kind of couple. I am definitely open to trying new foundations and powders, however, I have learned that I cannot wait until I run out of my favorites or I end up making a mad dash for the nearest cosmetics counter. See how I apply these products below.

To apply, I usually use about two pumps of the liquid using this pump. I always get this sponge wet, wring it out and us it to blend the liquid onto my face. I apply the powder using this brush. I always use the side of the brush to pat the powder onto my face instead of brushing or buffing. In fact, if I have a problem area, after applying the liquid, I load my powder brush up with powder and tap it directly onto that spot until it is covered, repeating if necesary. I then move on to applying my powder to the rest of my face so that the problem area ends up covered and blended.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!!

Something A Little Different

1. Dress: Charles Henry (40% Off) | 2. Clutch: Street Level (50% Off) | 3. Wedges: American Rag (51% Off) | 4. Earrings: Rampage (30% Off) | 5. Bracelet: Target (50% Off) | 6. Ring: Stella Valle for Target (65% Off)

I have decided to start bringing you something a little different, a weekly sale outfit. Yes, every single piece of this outfit is on sale!!! These items will probably go fast, so unlike my other posts that are new items that just hit the racks, I do not have time to order, receive, photograph and post these great deals before they are entirely sold out. This is something I have decided to do weekly by shopping just like I would for any other outfit for the blog, but only in the sale section. This is so true to me. I LOVE a good sale and it is the only way I used to shop before the blog. The only reason that changed was because the items have to be intensely current for a post and sometimes even those new pieces sell out before I can get them posted. Since this is a bit different, I will tell you that I promise to only post outfits that I would actually wear, from retailers that I actually frequent. I am not sure how much of a niche there is for this out there, but I hope you enjoy it.

This week's outfit is inspired by two of my favorite things... Summer and brunch! Although summer is coming to an end, it is still so ridiculously hot in SoCal and it will be for quite some time. This outfit has great colors to transition into a fall palette while still wearing something cool enough for a Saturday brunch with this heat. This halter dress is super cute and absolutely perfect for eating as many pancakes as you want at brunch. The wedges will be a perfect transitional shoe for fall and they come in a few other colors as well. I paired them with a black clutch (amazing deal by the way) and gold accessories (each under $7) that compliment the dress tie's gold ends.

I hope you enjoy this new installment and that your day is as beautiful as you are!!

Mid-Season-Slump

Bathing Suit: Sea Angel | Kimono: Xhilaration | Similar Sandals: Merona | Lip Liner: MAC in Soar | Lip Color: Bare Minerals in Juju

Sooooo I am not and have never been super comfortable in a bathing suit. I also have never, even at my tiniest, been a fan of my stomach. I have a super long torso and my belly button is ridiculously high. Because of my torso being so long it has always been hard to find a one piece, but did I ever find one in this gorgeous black number!?! I am definitely not in the best shape of my life, but when I slipped this baby on I felt really good about being in a bathing suit for the first time in a long time. The crochet detail is so delicate and so flattering because of the line it draws straight down your midsection. Sorry I did not post a picture of the bottom back, but trust me when I say it is cut perfectly... nothing is hanging out, but it doesn't look like a diaper. It has just the right angle. The best part... It is only $40!! I adore this kimono as a cover up. It is super lightweight, which is nice for drying purposes and I also wear it with jeans and a tank all the time.

Three seasons. Three fair seasons and every year about this time I have this slump. We get about half way through Orange County and I have these feelings and questions about if where I am is ok, if what I am doing is alright. When Tony and I got engaged WE made the decision that I would leave my job when we got married and that I would travel the fair circuit with him. I had a good job making great money, but I knew how important it was for us to be together year round to build a solid foundation as husband and wife. During the seasons while we were dating I would pack my bag every weekend and follow him throughout Southern California so we could be together for the weekend and we didn't feel that is something we should continue throughout our marriage. I mean, at what point do you merge your lives and make the decision to sacrifice to become one? Do not for a second get me wrong. This is a decision we made together. Tony's schedule is not traditional and I knew this coming in. This life is what I signed up for and most of the year I am beyond happy with it, but about early August the mid-fair-slump sets in. It usually involves me questioning my worth, what more I can do to help him, if I should go back to commuting and just get a job. what other work I can do from the road... etc. So that's why I have been absent and for that, I apologize. This year it also gave me reason to take a good hard look at the blog and what direction it should be moving. I'm not completely through that part, but I hope to be there soon.

I am almost positive most women question where they are in their lives, and if you don't, more power to you, seriously. I definitely don't have all the answers, but what I do know is that I think it's good to take a step back and get a little perspective. I adore my husband and our only arguments stem from wanting to spend more time together so commuting and spending less time with him is a terrible idea. This year during "the slump" I spent a lot more time in prayer than I have in years past and I know in my heart that we are doing what is right by having me here on the road supporting Tony in ways that do not have financial rewards. That man makes me feel nothing but wanted and appreciated and for that, I am so beyond blessed. I know that for now, I am where I need to be. My prayer will continue to be that a fire will be lit inside me the instant things need to change in any way.

I hope your day is as beautiful as you are!!
