Hot Cocoa and Christmas Pajamas


I know, you wish you could jump through the screen and drink this hot cocoa. Yes, you are absolutely right. It is definitely as good as you are thinking it is. Now, I can't take credit for this one. Tony is phenomenal in the kitchen and I am so thankful for that, especially this time of year! This masterpiece is a tradition that Tony makes for us while we decorate our Christmas tree. It is made up of hot cocoa in a mug rimmed with marshmallow cream and crushed graham crackers, topped with blowtorch roasted marshmallows and finished with a candy cane that melts into the hot cocoa giving it the most delicate minty flavor. I left you the full recipe below. Enjoy and make sure you pay extra close attention to step 11!

It is another tradition for me to always get super comfy holiday pajamas and when I saw Target's offerings this year, I got soooo excited! Unfortunately, this exact pair is sold out, but I linked similar ones above that are equally as cute. They are terribly comfortable and will definitely boost your holiday spirit! They run small so size up. That's not even the best part... These slippers deserve all of the heart eye emojis ever! They are so cozy that if I am home you can pretty much guarantee they are on my feet. As if the cable knit they have going on isn't cute enough, the fuzzy balls on the side just send them over the top. Oh, and they are only $15!!! I mean, I get that I am a full grown woman and all, but if there is ever a time to have super fun loungewear, it is the holidays! So, let your cutesy cozy girl flag fly sooo high!!


Tony's World Renown Hot Cocoa
Makes 4 Servings

Ingredients:


- 1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
- 6 1/4 Cups Milk
- 1/3 Cup Chocolate Chips
- 2 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- A pinch of Salt
- Lots Of Mini Marshmallows
- 1/2 Package Graham Crackers, crushed
- 1 Cup Marshmallow Creme
- 4 Candy Canes


Method:

1. Melt the chocolate chips by placing a glass bowl over a boiling saucepan of water or a double boiler if you have one. Whisk the chocolate once it starts to melt, until smooth.


2. Once the chocolate is fully melted temper it by adding one cup of the milk about a quarter cup at a time, whisking constantly until fully incorporated. Set aside momentarily


3. In a medium sized saucepan (you can use the same one as in step one, just dump the water) over medium-low heat, combine milk, tempered chocolate, cocoa powder, sugar, cinnamon, salt and vanilla and whisk to combine. Bring to a simmer and continue to simmer for at least 10 minutes, whisking occasionally.


4. While you are waiting for the hot cocoa to be done, prepare your mugs.

5. Smooth about a 1/2 inch thick layer of marshmallow creme onto a plate (wide enough to encompass the mouth of your mug). 

6. Place your mug top side down into the marshmallow and twist to coat the rim.



7. Place crushed graham crackers into a bowl and dip the marshmallow creme rimmed mug into the graham crackers. You may need to help these stick a bit by pressing them into the marshmallow.



8. Pour hot chocolate into prepared mug. Make sure to use some sort of pitcher with a pretty fine pouring spout as to not wash the crumbs off of the edge of the mug.


9. Top with as many mini marshmallows as your heart desires and roast them using a kitchen torch, or as we like to use in our house, a blowtorch from good ol' Home Depot.



10. Place a candy cane in the side and voila!!


11. Turn on Christmas music and talk about all of the things you are thankful for as you sip this delicious treat!
